Vice President Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh has officially reopened the Government Printing Department, marking the revival of the State’s official printing institution after years of collapse and inactivity.
The reopening of the once-defunct department represents a significant step toward strengthening government communication, restoring institutional efficiency, and rebuilding public confidence in state services.
The modernised State Art Printing facility is now fully operational and equipped to deliver improved printing and publishing services for government documents, educational materials, official gazettes, and other national publications.

Speaking at the official reopening ceremony, the Vice President described the occasion as a symbol of recovery and progress, underscoring the government’s commitment to rebuilding key national institutions.
He emphasised that restoring the Government Printing Department goes beyond infrastructure and equipment, highlighting its critical role in preserving state records, enhancing transparency, and creating employment opportunities for skilled professionals in the printing and publishing sector.

For many Sierra Leoneans, the return of the Government Printing Department signals the beginning of a new era of modernisation and institutional reform. The upgraded facility is expected to improve both the quality and efficiency of official government printing, while reducing reliance on external service providers.
The reopening also reflects the government’s broader vision of strengthening public institutions and advancing national development through innovation, efficiency, and accountability
