A young man has been stabbed to death by his colleague in Ategbeh town, Waterloo, on Tuesday evening, according to reports from the area.
The cause of the incident remains unknown, and the deceased’s body has been taken to the General Hospital in Waterloo.
An eyewitness told Sierraloaded that the two men had been having a normal conversation before the stabbing occurred.
This latest act of violence comes just weeks after the death of Samuel Brima Mattia, a 33-year-old broadcast journalist. Mattia, the former head of programs at Voice of Peace and Development (VOPAD) Radio 96.5FM, was found dead near the radio station on January 16th, with signs of having been brutally beaten.
Following Mattia’s death, police arrested several individuals, including the station manager, Joseph Lamin. Online reports suggest Mattia’s body was found with injuries consistent with a severe beating.
Waterloo, located in the Western Area Rural district, has gained a reputation as an area with a high crime rate. Police are currently investigating the stabbing incident to determine the motive and circumstances surrounding the death.
Waterloo is known to be a high spot for crime rate in Sierra leone. Police need to intensify more vigilance in that part of the country. I duly appreciate the police for professional policing and result oriented outcomes in all investigations made.
There is need for more police presence in Waterloo and also, they should be equipped more to carry out their duties.
Due to the availability of land, Waterloo will be habouring much more inhabitants of which different characters will shown up:- The Good, the Bad and Ugly will be available in high quantities. Only that Bad do dominate where all these 3 categories are. Having been the fastest growing development disteict, Waterloo the Headquarter town must be championing any aspects of life. House rental is better than the $s in F\T. Some ev3n squart at so many unfinished buildings and no landlords shows up. And even if the do, the reaffirmed the squatting status to caretakers. And many many more reasons I know that is putting the name of Waterloo into every month
Waterloo needs to be emptied of its criminal elements. It wasn’t always like this. The level of crime does not make sense.
