A young man has been stabbed to death by his colleague in Ategbeh town, Waterloo, on Tuesday evening, according to reports from the area.

The cause of the incident remains unknown, and the deceased’s body has been taken to the General Hospital in Waterloo.

An eyewitness told Sierraloaded that the two men had been having a normal conversation before the stabbing occurred.

This latest act of violence comes just weeks after the death of Samuel Brima Mattia, a 33-year-old broadcast journalist. Mattia, the former head of programs at Voice of Peace and Development (VOPAD) Radio 96.5FM, was found dead near the radio station on January 16th, with signs of having been brutally beaten.

Following Mattia’s death, police arrested several individuals, including the station manager, Joseph Lamin. Online reports suggest Mattia’s body was found with injuries consistent with a severe beating.

Waterloo, located in the Western Area Rural district, has gained a reputation as an area with a high crime rate. Police are currently investigating the stabbing incident to determine the motive and circumstances surrounding the death.
