This medium has learnt that the Sierra Leonean woman who recently gave birth to four babies is going through serious struggles at the moment and is in dire need of support from fellow country members as well as kindhearted individuals elsewhere.
According to reports gathered by this medium, the mother, Fatmata Sesay is currently suffering from severe stomach ache which needs urgent attention but so far not much has been done.
Sesay who lives with her husband and children is becoming paler and much weaker as days pass by. Speaking to Politico on January 5th 2024, the husband, Mohamed S Kanu, revealed they are financially challenged and could not take his wife to the hospital as of now, adding that they are relying on the blood syrup he buys for her with the hopes of subsiding the paleness.
The father who is said to be an apprentice in a printing workshop, described their struggles over the past days as a real one on them. He explained about the sleepless nights with his wife taking care of the babies and the difficult strings he is pulling to get them fed.
As only an apprentice, he said making money to feed his and the child they had earlier was hard and now it’s even harder that he’s been blessed with four more.
“the economy is not very good, taking care of a child is hard talkless of five children” he stated.
Kanu went on to state that despite their financial struggles, they have no intentions of giving their children up for adoption. He said they want to raise their children by themselves but for this to happen, they really need the support of everyone.
Kanu said they’ve made moves to caught the attention of the media and the Ministry of Social Welfare but they’ve not been able to get help, except the ones they’re receiving from their fellow community members.
He therefore called on the president, Dr Julius Maada Bio, his wife, government and goodwill organizations in and out of the country to come to their rescue.
