The Government of Sierra Leone, in partnership with the African Land Institution Network (ALIN), the Rights and Resources Initiative (RRI), and the African Land Policy Centre (ALPC), has announced the upcoming ALIN International Conference, set to take place from 14th to 16th October 2025 at the Bintumani Conference Centre in Freetown.

This high-level event will bring together over 100 delegates from across Africa and beyond, including land governance experts, policymakers, civil society leaders, and development partners. The conference aims to drive inclusive land reform and institutional transformation across the continent.

Themed “Strengthening Land Institutions for Inclusive Growth and Resilience”, the 5th Regional Conference will highlight the urgent need for robust, transparent, and people-centered land institutions in Africa. Participants will have the opportunity to share innovations, policy solutions, and community-driven approaches to land governance, with a particular focus on empowering women, youth, and indigenous communities.

The three-day conference will feature plenary sessions and technical panels covering critical topics such as customary land rights, climate resilience, and institutional reform.

Dr. Turad Senesie, Minister of Lands, Housing and Country Planning, emphasized the significance of the gathering, stating: “This conference is a defining moment for Africa’s land institutions. Sierra Leone is proud to host a dialogue that places communities at the heart of land governance.”

The 5th Regional Conference is hosted jointly by the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Country Planning, ALIN, and other partners.
