The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) Training Directorate has concluded a large-scale training exercise for over 2,500 officers across the Freetown-East Police Region, focusing on Anti-Corruption Measures and the newly enacted Criminal Procedure Act (CPA) 2024.
The Training was led by the Director of Training, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Joe Kamanda Bongay. One of the engagements was a combined formal session held at Kingtom with an innovative mobile coaching approach. This method allowed the training team to reach officers directly at their various police stations and posts, ensuring no one was left out.
During the one-and-a-half-hour mobile sessions, facilitators delivered detailed presentations comparing the repealed CPA with the new 2024 Act, highlighting its emphasis on fairness, justice, and protection of vulnerable groups within the legal process. Officers also engaged in interactive discussions on anti-corruption ethics and law enforcement accountability.

Local Unit Commanders across the region commended the Training Directorate for the initiative and called for similar programmes to be extended nationwide.
The next phase of the training is scheduled to begin in the Freetown-West Region on Monday, 3rd November 2025.
The mobile training team included DSP Alpha Kamara, Chief Inspector Abdul Rahman Sankoh, Chief Inspector Aminata F. Kabba, and Sergeant Mohamed Fofana.
