Kingho Mining Company Limited (KMC) has announced a new round of recruitment for Heavy Vehicle (HV) Operators as part of its ongoing mining operations in the Tonkolili District in the northeastern region of Sierra Leone.

The company, established on 21 August 2019, is a large-scale mining firm operating within the Tonkolili Mining Area, where it specializes in iron ore extraction and processing. KMC produces 57% grade Direct Shipping Ore (DSO), jigging ore, and 62% grade concentrate fines.

In its latest vacancy announcement, the company is inviting qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of Heavy Vehicle Operators to support its haulage and mining logistics operations at the Tonkolili mine site.

Successful applicants will be responsible for operating wide-body dump trucks, trailers, excavators, and loaders to safely transport iron ore and equipment within the mining site. Operators will also be required to follow dispatch instructions, complete haulage routes efficiently, and ensure strict adherence to safety protocols.

Other responsibilities include conducting routine pre-operation and post-operation inspections of vehicles, maintaining trip logs and material records, coordinating safely with loading and unloading teams, and reporting any mechanical faults or safety hazards. Operators are also expected to keep equipment clean, assist with minor maintenance tasks, and participate in company-organized safety and skills training sessions.

According to the announcement, applicants must have at least junior high school education or above, possess a valid Category C driver’s license, and have a minimum of five years’ experience operating heavy mining equipment such as dump trucks, trailers, excavators, or loaders.

Candidates are also expected to demonstrate basic technical knowledge of vehicle inspection and maintenance, the ability to read and record operational data in English, and physical fitness suitable for demanding mining operations. The company emphasized that applicants must have no record of major traffic accidents or serious disciplinary violations and must strictly adhere to safety rules, including zero tolerance for fatigue and alcohol use while on duty.
