The United Nations Regional Coordinator, Babatunde Ahonsi has officially presented the 2022 UN Annual Results Reports to the Minister of Planning and Economic Development in Sierra Leone, Francis Kai-Kai on Tuesday 18th April, 2023 at his Tower Hill Office in Freetown.
The united nations in presenting the 1st set of hard copies of the 2022 Sierra Leone United Nations Annual Results Report to the Minister of Planning and Economic Development, appreciated Government’s support towards the implementation of the Cooperation Framework.
The discussion also led to covering various areas of mutual collaboration, ranging from key highlights of the report, progress made so far in the implementation of the UNSDCF, sustainable collaboration, education, the DDCC institutionalization process, the newly approved NGO policy by Cabinet and trending challenges in the context of the impact of interconnected global crises, among others.
The minister thanked the UNRC and Family for their continued support to His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio’s Development Agenda at different times and level as he expressed pleasure to have serve as co-chair to the Steering Committee of the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF).
He commended the resident team for the proactive move in preparing the 2022 UN Sierra Leone Annual Results report in record time.
In his presentation of the report, Babatunde A. Ahonsi, on behalf of government, thanked the Minister of Planning and Economic Development, for the show of support towards the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) and efforts of the UN system.
He commended the MoPED team for always being there for moving development in the midst of numerous challenges.
‘’ I officially presented to government of Sierra Leone via Francis Kai-Kai of MoPED our 2022 UN Annual Results Report, a stocktaking of the progress by UN Sierra Leone in implementing the UN sustainable development cooperation framework. I thanked the ministry for its support for the efforts of the UN system’’. He said.
